Uplifting Walks May’s Walk – Dufftown

Uplifting Walks May’s Walk – Dufftown

Join Uplifting Walks on Saturday 20th May as we follow an off-shoot of the Speyside Way along an old railway from Dufftown to Craigellachie, to turn south along the Spey to Aberlour, before climbing over moor, forest and farmland – Amazing views throughout – its a really beautiful walk!

To accommodate the needs of as many walkers as possible, there are a few options for this walk; 5 miles, 7 miles or the full 12 miles. For the 5 and 7 mile options, walkers with cars must use public transport to get back to Dufftown (at a cost of approx £3 pp) or walkers using public transport can get the bus directly back to Elgin.

  1. 5 mile walk – Dufftown to Craigellachie – (approx 2 hrs)
Flat, easy terrain along the old railway
  2. 7 mile walk – Dufftown to Aberlour – (approx 3hrs)
Flat, easy terrain along the old railway
  3. 12 mile walk – Dufftown, Craigellachie and Aberlour Circular – (approx 5 hrs)
As above with a slight climb towards the end
