Pilgrim Statue of Our Lady of Fatima

The Scottish Pilgrim Fatima statue was donated by Margaret Docherty, and blessed in Fatima. It will go to every Catholic Cathedral in Scotland during this Centenary Year. It will be within the Diocese of Aberdeen from the 3rd June until 30th June 2017.

It will be at Pluscarden for the 9 days from Sunday 11 – Monday 19 June. On Tuesday 13 June, centenary of the second Apparition, a special Plenary Indulgence, proclaimed by Pope Francis, will be available:

“To the faithful who visit with devotion a statue of Our Lady of Fatima solemnly exposed for public veneration in any church, oratory or proper place during the days of the anniversary of the apparitions, the 13th of each month from May to October 2017, and there devoutly participate in some celebration or prayer in honor of the Virgin Mary. In addition, the faithful must pray the Our Father, recite the Creed and invoke Our Lady of Fatima.”


Where and When within the Diocese of Aberdeen:

  • 3rd – 9th June: St Mary’s Cathedral, Aberdeen.
  • 9th – 10th June: Greyfriars Convent, Elgin. (Part of their “Power of Grace” retreat for teenagers on 10th.)
  • 11th June: St. Sylvester’s Parish Church, Elgin for Sunday Mass.
  • 11th – 19th June: Pluscarden Abbey, Elgin and Novena of Prayer for Vocations.
  • 13th June: From 12.00 – 12.30, a special public devotions at Pluscarden for gaining the Indulgence.
  • 19th – 28th June: St. Mary’s, Beauly, which will also host a special devotional Novena to Our Lady of Fatima.
  • 28th – 30th June: Daughters of Divine Love, Inverness.
  • 1st July onwards:  Craig Lodge, Dalmally.
