Quite soon, Poles will be celebrating the 100th anniversary of Poland’s independence. There is an event organised at St Mary’s Cathedral. It will be in Polish, but everyone is welcome to join the Polish community to commemorate the event.
In 1918, World War I was over and Poland was free after spending 123 years divided amongst the three neighbouring powers. Poland regained its sovereignty exactly on 11th of November 1918. Polish Catholics in Aberdeen would like to mark this one hundredth birthday. Join them at the Main Hall on Sunday, 11th of November after 3pm Polish Mass.
You will hear the poems of well-known Polish poets, and the singing of Polish patriotic songs in a relaxed atmosphere. Admission is free. Refreshments available.
