Uplifting Walks: Annual Mass Walk – Newburgh, Aberdeenshire

Uplifting Walks invite you to a special open-air Mass and walk, which will be held on Saturday 13th July at Forvie National Nature Reserve, Newburgh, kindly accompanied by Fr Tad Turski.

We will be following the beautiful Ythan Estuary with Mass celebrated in the ruins of an old church. Lunch will be accompanied by our annual award giving!

  • 3.5 mile option: Circular route through the dunes of the Ythan Estuary with Mass at the old church.
  • 10 mile option: As above plus a cliff-top walk to the remains of Old Slains Castle

The walk will be accompanied by flowing conversation and culture all while being surrounded by beautiful nature.

Both options will include coastal tracks which can be tricky in places and there area few minor ascents/descents.

*** Please note that if the weather is poor, the Mass may be cancelled but the walk will go ahead. ***

Due to the nature of this walk, you MUST register to attend, if you arrive on the day not registered you will not be able to join the walk.

Food Requirements:  Packed Lunch required.
Car Parking: Parking is available at Forvie National Nature Car Park, AB41 6AB,
(1 mile north of Newburgh)

Public Transport: Newburgh is serviced by the bus service 63/61 from the Aberdeen.
