We would like to warmly invite families across the diocese to take part in a special parish family campaign taking place at Sacred Heart RC Church, Torry, Aberdeen from 31 May to 12 June:
“A Heart That Builds, In our parish, everything is done with heart”
The campaign is organised by our Polish-speaking parish community and leads up to the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the patronal celebration of our parish.
While many of the relationships and activities naturally grow from our Polish-speaking community life, the initiative is open to all families and members of the wider parish community.
Through family LEGO building activities, shared creative projects, prayer, and community gatherings, we hope to create a welcoming space where families can:
- spend meaningful time together,
- strengthen relationships between parents and children,
- encounter a joyful and living Church community,
- and grow in faith through friendship and shared experience.
The programme will include:
- family LEGO and creative building spaces,
- a collaborative “Heart” construction created by families,
- family activities and challenges,
- presentations of hobbies and talents,
- prayer intentions for families,
and a final celebration during the Feast of the Sacred Heart on 12 June.
We hope to show that the Church can be a place where families not only attend Mass, but also build relationships, community, and faith together.
