Assisted Suicide Consultation

Assisted suicide is a grave threat to human dignity.

A public consultation on a proposed Bill to legalise assisted suicide has recently opened and we encourage you to respond.

Bishop Hugh Gilbert, President of the Bishops’ Conference of Scotland, has encouraged the Catholics of Scotland to respond to the consultation and to “reject” the proposal. Bishop Gilbert added that the proposal was “a serious threat to the elderly, the disabled, and the vulnerable” and urged people to “send the message that every human life has value.”
