Welcome to this summer issue of the Light of the North and, once again, there’s plenty of encouraging news from around the Diocese plus lots of interesting features.
In his pastoral letter Bishop Hugh Gilbert OSB expresses the joy of celebrating the Feast of the Assumption of Our Lady, and draws our attention to the Diocesan ‘Beauty for God’ project (P3). Fr Benedict Hardy OSB reports on this year’s Diocesan pilgrimage to Pluscarden Abbey (P4) and Dhylan Livani recounts the journey of faith which led him to Rome (P24). Dr Shelagh Noden looks at the origins of the Marian Antiphons (P26), and in ‘God’s Garden’ Eileen Grant describes how gardens have been an important feature in the history of salvation since the very beginning of our story (P27). And there really is plenty more for everyone!
