NATIONAL PILGRIMAGE TO WHITHORN: The annual National Pilgrimage to Whithorn will take place on Sunday 30th August. Mass will be celebrated by Bishop Frank Dougan on the beach near St Ninian’s Cave at 4 pm, and at the church in Whithorn at 4.45 pm for those unable to reach the shore. A well-established footpath about one mile long takes you through the glen to the shore, and to be in place for Mass at 4 pm it is recommended to begin the walk by 3 pm. For more information visit:

NATIONAL PILGRIMAGE TO CARFIN: The National Pilgrimage to Scotland’s Marian Shrine will take place on Sunday 6th September with Mass at 3.00 pm. At the Pilgrimage Mass, the faithful will join the Universal Church in marking 800 years since the death of St Francis of Assisi. The principal celebrant and homilist will be Archbishop William Nolan of Glasgow.
