Lenten Station Masses 2023

Across the Diocese of Aberdeen, each week during Lent there are special Masses held called “Station Masses” held across the deaneries.

Would you like to do something more than give up sugar this Lent? Why not try for an occasional mini-pilgrimage to a Lenten Station Mass?

Moray – St John Oglivie Deanery

The Deanery Station Masses will take place as follows:

  • Thursday 02 March – St Margaret’s, Forres @ 1100
  • Wednesday 08 March – St Margaret’s, Huntly @ 1100
  • Thursday 16 March – Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Banff @ 1100
  • Wednesday 22 March – St Sylvester’s, Elgin @ 1900
  • Thursday 30 March – St Peter’s, Buckie – Chrism Mass @ 18:00
Aberdeen – St Mary’s Deanery

During Lent Station Masses will take place in various churches across the city of Aberdeen on each Friday, starting at 18:30 with Stations of the Cross, followed by Mass at 19:00. There will be an opportunity to make confessions from 18:00.

  • Friday 24 February: St. Mary’s Cathedral, Aberdeen
  • Friday 3 March: Sacred Heart, Torry
  • Friday 10 March: St Columba’s, Bridge of Don
  • Friday 17 March: St Peter’s, Castlegate
  • Friday 24 March: St Francis’, Mannofield
  • Friday 31 March: St. Joseph’s, Woodside
Highland Deanery

The Deanery Station Masses will take place on Friday evenings during Lent at 19:00.

  • Friday 24 February: St. Mary’s, Beauly
  • Friday 3 March: St. Mary’s, Inverness
  • Friday 10 March: St. Aidan’s, Aviemore
  • Friday 17 March: St. Anne’s, Thurso
  • Friday 24 March: St. Ninian’s, Inverness
  • Friday 31 March: St. Columba’s, Culloden
